Public not allowed access to MasterFormat.com

As of November 1, only CSI (CSC) members will have access to www.MasterFormat.com.

Comments?

I would be good to be accurate about the change:

"Effective November 1, 2010, access to the numbers and titles portion and select other portions of the MasterFormat.com website will be limited. Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) members will have access to the site as a member benefit for the length of their membership. Non-members of these two organizations can obtain access to the site for a year as part of their purchase of that years MasterFormat update.

The public will continue to have free access to the revisions page and select other portions of the site, and will still be able to propose revisions to MasterFormat. A PDF version of the updated numbers and titles will be made available for download from CSI and CSC after each years update is released."

Robert,

Speaking of accuracy, the portion below is missing from the first page of MasterFormat site. Where did you get this information?

“The public will continue to have free access to the revisions page and select other portions of the site, and will still be able to propose revisions to MasterFormat. A PDF version of the updated numbers and titles will be made available for download from CSI and CSC after each years update is released.”

It is from a press release that has been available pretty widely for a week or two - I have seen previously it the CSI Weekly and on LinkedIn CSI site. Also in the CSI NewsBrief I believe.

It is also a resource under MasterFormat on the CSI website: http://www.csinet.org/Home-Page-Category/Formats/MasterFormat/MasterFormatcom-to-Remain-FREE-to-Members.aspx

Thanks.

Well I think that CSI should put that information on the first page of the MasterFormat website. That way someone visiting the place for the first time will know.
