Is there a freely available document similar to http://csinet.org/numbersandtitles for the older MF’95 numbers and titles? (my preference would be a CSI/CSC document) I’m looking for a list that I can use to back-convert my MF’04 specs for those clients that expect M&E specs in Div 15/16, and are not easily persuaded that they need to adopt the now 9 year old standard.
Additionally, I have a copy of the Masterformat '04 applications guide which provides an idea of the groupings and what not. I’m trying to figure out how to organize a table of contents per 1995, as stuff like the “Procurement and Contracting Requirements Group” don’t exist in the old system. Can anyone advise?
There are some bugs in the one EMF-95 spechelp file. Everything in Div 15 and 16 is not accessible through the help file’s table of contents, though it is accessible through the search index.
I did stumble across what looks to be the front part of the MasterFormat 1995 manual, which I guess would be the part before the two spechelp files that helps explains the method and madness of the old numbering system.
Strangely, the scan is missing page 11. Anything important in there that is missing that I should be aware of? I’m amazed someone somewhere doesn’t have a slightly cleaner copy available online for what is essentially a legacy document.
Christopher, SpecHelp! was a work in progress. I intended to publish it, but my timing was bad; the next version of MasterFormat was in the works, so I didn’t finish the project. If you use the table of contents to go to 14, 15, or 16, you get a page with only the Division title, but you can navigate forward or backward from any point using the navigation buttons with double arrows. Thanks for playing!
Sorry for coming late to the show but if anyone still needs a “conversion map” document, I have PDF’s from ARCOM (early 2009) that are organized to show MF04 to MF95 and MF95 to MF04.
ARCOM titled them “MASTERSPEC MF04 to MF95 Conversion Map” and vice versa.
