Dry Erase Paint

Would anyone care to recommend or comment on dry erase paint products?

I have an educational facility project that requires whiteboards, dry-erase wallcovering, and dry-erase paint.

I just want to be sure I specify a paint that merits good customer satisfaction.

Here’s what I recommend: On Thursday night, clear out the site. On Friday morning, begin the dry erase paint installation, with no other contractors or building occupants on site. Let the building sit empty, with negative air machines running, all weekend. On Monday morning, the dry erase paint will be cured and the smell will be gone, mostly.
By the time the paint wears out (begins ghosting), either hope the new technology is better or apply the wallcovering.

Wall prep and environmental conditions are crucial to getting a good result. When the cost of materials, cost of prep, and longevity are considered, Walltalkers dry-erase fabric may be a better choice.

We have three types of markerboard paint in our office for experimentation. IdeaPaint works the best for us. It has a sacrificial wax coating that is super easy to clean, and every few years gets a new coating of wax.

Sherwin-Williams has a product that is a coating (http://www.sherwin-williams.com/painting-contractors/products/catalog/dry-erase-coating/) that is clear and can be used over any colored substrate or paint finish.

We have the SW product also. It’s great to write on, takes a bit more effort to remove without ghosting.
