I’m looking for any resources (spec master text, etc.) folks are willing/able to share for saving historic facades on a current project. Unfortunately excavation requirements and the proximity of a subway tunnel don’t allow shoring in place.

Yea but not very deep. Like many books it’s a good start and lots of general things, but as I remember it, It did not impress me enough to buy it. I had already built two notebooks of stuff from NPS and the other preservation society’s web sites (Of course, I’m not a good reviewer of these books, as I have a degree in archaeology)

What is you facade made from? NO shoring? How do you intend to hold it up. Or do you want to deconstruct it.
give us some specifics and I’ll see what I have

Thanks, Marc. We have 2 different facades on 2 street fronts. We will need to deconstruct and rebuild.

Some masonry on adjoining faades was removed to reveal the facade to be preserved. The existing faade claddings appear to be a stone material approximately four and six inches thick (two existing buildings), with a masonry backup.
