Vision Lite with Sliding Glass Panel

I have a project that shows a vision lite in an interior, non-rated door with a sliding glass panel. I have not been able to find such a product in the catalogs of manufacturers usually identified.

Any suggestions of manufacturer and product?

John-

Like a transaction window - but without the shelf and bullet resistance? C R Laurence might be able to make up something…

Agreed; you can choose the components you need from their catalog.

Thanks.

I checked CRL and found no packaged “transaction window” for a flush steel door. I guess components could be assembled. A typical glazed lite could be modified with CRL components. Afterall, they make everything from shower enclosures, automotive/RV windows and display case components.

It’s another example where the wizardry of spec writing is being called upon to solve a partially-defined problem.

Is it a rated opening?

As I stated at the beginning, the door is non-rated.

I am going to save this problem for last. Perhaps there will be plancheck comments regarding fire-rating and accessiblity, neither of which the design presently addresses.

Sorry, missed that. Last week we changed glazing on an opening from glass to 3form. I noted that the opening was rated, so 3form couldn’t be used; apparently, the opening had been changed to non-rated, but the opening schedule had not been updated. It’s always good to ask if an opening is rated before making changes.
