Problem sending files from a PC to an Apple.

I am having a problem sending a colleague Word and PDF files from my Windows computer to her Apple computer. Instead of the files she gets a file called “win.dat”. Does anybody know what is causing this problem and how to correct it? Thanks.

Two things:

  1. Stop sending your emails as Rich Text formatted emails. HTML is fine. This should stop it from happening in the future.

or

  1. In the body of your email, tell your recipient if the file is a .doc or whatever. They then can take your rich text formatted email with the Win.Dat file, and simply save it their folder as a .doc or whatever.
