Three days ago, my computer started acting really, really slow. This seemed to happen only with Microsoft Word. It was to the point where my computer was unusable for writing specifications. Everything else worked okay.
I tried EVERYTHING: clean the cache, scanned with malware, repaired Office 365, deleted and turned off programs, tested my internet, etc. I called two computer friends for their advice. Googled the issue, read forums, and watched videos. I had no success.
BTW, when I was running Word, my computer fans would be spinning full speed. The task manager said Word was using an extremely high amount of resources.
One friend said I might have a faulty power supply. So I turned off the computer, unplugged everything, and took the back off. I did have a lot of dust that I blew out with compressed air.
My graphics card was blazing hot. I removed it, and it felt like a bowl of hot soup from my microwave! It took a while to cool down.
Before taking the computer apart, I uninstalled Office 365 out of exasperation.
I assembled the computer and reinstalled Office 365, and everything works fine!
