A client has asked about these products; they’re seeking input on whose/which devices have proven especially durable and functional in exterior installations. Any advice?

I have specified and witnessed installed both Garaventa style stair lifts on the waterfront on Hood Canal in WA state and Inclinator style vertical lifts elsewhere. However, I have not been in the loop if things went according to plan or went south. I am taking the stance, no news is good news.

I am aware of multiple Garaventa exterior lifts that have functioned successfully for a number of years. These are all vertical lifts and not incline lifts and some are contained within fully enclosed (but unheated) enclosures of aluminum framing and polycarbonate glazing.
If these are vertical lifts I would recommend Garaventa. I could not say one way or another if you need to install incline lifts in an exterior location.
I agree. I have specified a number of vertical lifts and the specs were usually based on Garaventa.
