Any experience with or comments on Mitsubitshi Electric Hand Dryers? Also, any U.S. sources?
The website for the Mitsubishi Electric’s High-speed Hand Dryer doesn’t list the USA as of the Countries of Shipment for the product. Toto demostrated a hand dryer of similar design at the KBIS in Las Vegas about three weeks ago. You may try contacting a local Toto rep. I’m not sure what the issue is with Mitsubishi, but Bradley Corp. just came out with a new one that only projects 4" from the wall.
World Dryer is also one of the best, but I’m not sure what you are looking for?
The high efficiency one that I’m familiar with is from Excel Dryers Inc.: XLerator Model XL-C; Surface-Mounted Automatic Hand Dryer; Chrome Plated Cover; GreenSpec approved.
The Excel rep was by here a couple of weeks ago. Nice unit, and in response to my question about the noise level he brought along a second unit equipped with an optional discharge nozzle that made it sound like less of a leaf blower.
Our CA dept. head found the Mitsubitshi and was asking about it. I did find a web site for Mitsubitishi/Canada, and queried them as to outlets there and in U.S.-- no reply as yet. thanks to all for your information-- much appreciated!
For what it’s worth, my personal experience is that the XLerator model may be noisier than the standard unit, but it dries your hands in about 1/3 the amount of time. In many restrooms, the standard type are too slow, and people don’t dry their hands (or perhaps even wash them) because there are plenty of sinks, but not enough dryers.
