CONSTRUCT at a resort versus a convention center

It was noted in the thread about the 2019 location of CONSTRUCT that it will be held at a resort in Maryland (thoughtless date selection unfortunately) instead of a convention center. While previous venues in my experience have been fine, except for the occasional long trek from the exhibit hall to the education area, I believe we will find the resort venue more accommodating. At least I hope so.

I know some of my colleagues on this forum have attended Opal Summits SpArk and Bond Events Arc US symposia that have been held at some very nice places which, again in my opinion, served the intended purpose very well. While most resorts may not be able to accommodate the numbers of people CSI conventions drew in the past, they can serve as a motivator to keep the current level of attendance from dropping even further. Whether I or my firm is paying for me to attend CONSTRUCT I want it to be a pleasurable as well as useful experience.

I remember when I first attended CSI National Conventions in the early 1980s, many of our colleagues brought their families and scheduled their vacations around the event. They even went as far as joining up with other colleagues and their families to have group vacations. Incredible bonding experiences and probably the most organic way to strengthen CSI.
