any updates on wood veneer Prodema/Parklex type panels?

A couple of years ago, we had a discussion on this forum about the wood veneer composite exterior panel and the results were mixed – at best. (I have seen some pretty bad examples of water damage, fading, and discoloration). I’ve got some interest in the office here using the wood veneer panels, and before I say “not on your life”, I wanted to check to see if the results are better than they used to be. Have these gotten more reliable, and better performing over the past couple of years?

According to both, they have reformulated their systems as a result of the failures both have experienced in the past. I have yet to see a weathered installation of the ‘new, better’ products.

I want to believe it, just not sure I do.

We have a Parklex installation that’s been up about 8 months now, which means it’s been though one Northern California winter. I haven’t heard of any issues and it appears to be holding up well so far. It’s walking distance from our office, so I could email you some current photos if it would help.

John-
thanks. I think the idea of using these panels has gone away… but I’ll keep you in mind if it comes up again.
