Metal joist hangers

I am looking for equivalents to Simpson Strong-Tie products. Simpson has such a foothold in the market, but the owner wants equivalents.

In the past, I have specified KC Metals, but I am not sure they are still around. Ther is nothing in the Changes page on 4specs.

David, check out Mitek. https://www.mitek-us.com/products/Structural-Connectors/

I have personally installed some of their products.

Looks like KC Metals has a history of acquisitions. First by G2 National in 2018 Then MBB investments merged G2 National with SmartFrame Solutions, also in 2018. G2 National website is active at http://g2national.com/ but connectors may not be available individually. Only trusses are shown.

Silver used to be an alternate to Simpson for anything except DSA/OSHPD but I don’t know if they are still around.

I must look into this. I remember another question about this recently. I do not see KC Metal Products nor G2 National in 4specs listings. G2 acquired KC in 2018 according to this G2 posting G2 National Acquires Assets of KC Metal Products, Inc – G2 Connect – An Evolution in Wood-Framed Structure

Here may be some sources for wood framing connectors:

I will use these suggestions for additions to 4specs.com if the manufacturers are not already listed. Share whatever “new” manufacturers you find that are not listed in 4specs.com

Mitek operates two websites for two brands. Residential construction wood framing connectors are found here https://www.mitek-us.com/. Commercial construction cold formed metal framing systems are found here https://aegismetalframing.com/. I updated 4specs so the wood framing sections in Division 06 link to the residential brand.

I added ClarkDietrich and Burmon to the wood framing sections as connector manufacturers.

SPAX makes screws, only. Manufacturing is in Germany. So they are not included in 4specs that focuses on products from US and Canada.
