Several years ago I took a two week intensive seminar on sacred architecture with Dr. Keith Critchlow of the Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture. One of the topics was numerology; what is it and how is it embodied in art, literature and architecture.
The belief is that numbers hold vibrational and textural meaning beyond the mathematics; that each number corresponds to a certain letter of the alphabet of a given language or an action or character of physical objects. There can be many interpretations.
Numerology is embedded in language, and adds a deeper sacred meaning to the literal translation of words, especially when you look at the numerology of an entire phrase or sentence. It can add texture and depth, and sometimes hidden mystery. Many interpretations can be gleaned from a single phrase depending on translation of tone or syntax. It is like peeling an onion. Thus there is the likelihood of misinterpretation.
Getting to the point, there is a phrase in Revelations, Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six
I have heard interpretations, depending on the language translation; according to Hebrew, Latin, Greek numerology, that that phrase can be interpreted several different ways numerological.
The number 666 does not necessarily refer to the beast. Some believe it refers to man; that perhaps man is the beast. It gets weirder, I wont go into it. Just be careful out there.
Now that I am aware of this thread, I am told that the number is really 616 and refers to Nero. According to a friend of mine who is a professor of NT:
“The “NUN” = “N” in Hebrew = 50. Nero is spelled either NERON or NERO in NERON KESAR or NERO KESAR (= Nero Caesar). The first from the Greek, the second from the Latin. Depending on the MS’s ancestry, that accounts for the difference between 666 and 616.”
Ok, I gotta ask… what is the number of the beast in MF04?
Did it get a new division?
More importantly, is it a work result now, and not merely a product?

A word search of MasterFormat 2004 for “beast” comes up empty but the number 06 06 06 is open for assignment!
