I had some snags to figure out with the website but here’s how I got through it, might save others time if they are still reporting -
most important tip, DO NOT WAIT ANY LONGER if you haven’t finished already. It may take longer than you think!
I have reported these to webmaster@csinet.org.
The system seems to time out every few minutes without letting the user know what happened. Then the next time you try to submit new PDH or finish editing PDH, it appears as though the website stopped working. Even closing the tab and retyping the base URL does not work at this point. I have found it does this whether in Internet Explorer or other browsers.
SOLUTION: Fully close the browser.
Also if you try to upload supporting documentation that is somewhere over 4 or 5 MB, it is too big of a file but instead of letting the user know what happened, it goes back to the main portal page without any apparent reason.
SOLUTION: If this happens to you, then try optimizing PDFs for large files of programs you attended, or use a low-res camera phone or low-res scanner settings to copy certificates.
I didn’t mean to start a gripe session, only trying to find out if others had similar issues with this process and alert my friends here to watch out for the email. There were two more reminders by email, that is a good thing. You’re right George, we have been previously made aware as certificants of our duty to track the information for every 3 yr renewal. If anyone wants a spreadsheet and folders to help keep track of that regardless of job changes or whatever, here is one I use that is updated to current requirements: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x8b0ocjrbpcvz14/CE%20-%20CCS%20renewal.zip?dl=0. Best thing is to upload credits right after they are earned. Also though CSI has changed to completely different websites for reporting the data a couple of times, so I will keep using my spreadsheet and folder system too in case it does not all come through into some future system. I sure would like to see credits earned at CONSTRUCT be reported for us, too. And why not our Chapter programs similar to AIA? I will pass these ideas along to certification and education leaders.
I did also contact certification@csinet.org when it came to particulars of my renewal but I suspect she is overwhelmed right now and I muddled through it OK.
